Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope you all had a great meal and a great time with family. I know I did and that is what I'm going to blog about today.

My Thanksgiving was very exciting and busy. It started Wednesday night when we hung out at the Dunn house. Uncle Mark was there and I was so excited to see him! I jumped on him and cried and wagged my tail a lot. He lives in Wisconsin now so I don't get to see him as much, that's why I went kind of crazy when I saw him. Mandy got home from the gym a few minutes later, I was also excited to see her. Then Tom, Wendy and Brody arrived. I love hanging out with Brody. Missy and Michael showed up shortly after. I love seeing them too. We played and ate Wednesday night. I had some ham and tried to get into the trash.

Thanksgiving morning mom and dad left me at home to catch up on some sleep. Then Uncle Mark picked me up in his new car and took me over to the Dunn's. I wouldn't jump in his car so he had to lift me. But I spent the day roaming around, playing with grandpa, sniffing for food, and all that good stuff. Mom and dad showed up and shortly after when no one was watching I ate a good amount of cheese off the kitchen table. It was so yummy!

Later on I sat next to grandpa at dinner and he fed me turkey. Delicious. I walked around the table trying to get more from other people but everyone pushed me away. So I went back to grandpa, he gave me more of course. I was tired for a little bit, then Mike and Vanessa and MJ showed up. MJ and I are about the same age and he loved when I licked his face.

Later on I went outside and got my second wind. I wish mom would have video taped me. I came racing in the house, ran around the table, jumped over Michael (who was laying on the floor) and made everyone laugh. I did that about 4 times, along with trying to carry the newspapers everywhere. I kept mom very busy. Harley spent the night and slept in bed with mom and I. He kept chewing on my bones so I'd steal them away. Mom says I need to learn to share, whatever that means.

It was a great day and now I'm super sleepy. But here are some pictures that my good friend Brody captured throughout the day. Enjoy! Have a great rest of the weekend, I know I will!

I'm Back!

Hello friends and followers! Wow. It's been a long time since my last dog blog, I guess I've been a busy boy. I'll give you some updates on what I've been doing.

I ended the summer with a trip to the local waterpark. They have dog day on the last day of the season. It was so fun to swim with other doggies and get some prizes. Afterwards mom, grandma and I stopped for ice cream at Tuckers!

Ice cream time!
Dog day at The Beach!

My favorite things...swimming and balls.

Ooops..I peed in the pool!
My mommy got a new job, and that means I got a new daycare. It's a really awesome place called Dogtown Cincinnati. I never have to go in a crate and I get to play the entire time. There are multiple webcams so my family can watch me while I'm there. I love it and I come home exhausted every time I go!
Passed out after a day of daycare.

Just resting up in the recliner.

I've done a lot of growing up lately. I'm on my 3rd week of freedom. That means that I don't have to go in my crate during the day while my parents are at work. I've been a very good boy and haven't ruined anything. I've also been sleeping with my parents in their bed. I don't have my own bed on the floor yet because mom thinks I'd eat it (I probably would). I kicked dad out of bed the other night, stole his spot and his pillow. And last night I had to pee at midnight, so mom put me out and guess what? IT WAS SNOWING! I love snow! So I kept trying to bite it and decided that at 1:30 am I wanted to play out in it again! (Sorry mom). Needless to say, I had to sleep in my crate last night. :(
Getting ready for bed...on dads side.
I had a great Halloween. I was a Rufferee! I loved seeing all the kids and helping mom pass out candy! Lots of people said I was super cute! (Of course I am!)
Touch down!
Ahhh...other than all that, I've just been being Cooper. Hanging out with friends and family. Taking rides in the car. Getting in a little bit of trouble. Growing up. All good stuff. I'm excited for the holidays and will be sure to blog more. Now it's time to watch some TV. Thanks for reading.
I like watching TV.

Back to School

Well, I'm back in school. But school is cool right? Mom is tired of some of my shenanigans (ex. jumping). So she enrolled me in a new school: Positive Paws. Today was my second class and I'd say they've both gone well.

I got to demonstrate at both classes so far. The first week we practiced some loose leash walking, which I am generally good at. This week we worked on 'Down' and more loose leash walking. I was really good a demonstrating 'Down'. I think I'll get the hang of it soon. Mom and I  just need to remember to do my homework.

They also teach 'Settle', which is where mom puts my leash under her foot and then I'm supposed to just lay down and settle. This is really hard for me because, lets face it, I'm still a baby and full of energy. I love to bite at my leash and paw at mom. So I definitely need to practice this more. We were given tips on how to control my jumping, it's just so hard because I get so excited when someone comes over or mom gets home from work!

The teacher supplied us with a Clicker, so I'm trying to get the hang of learning what that means. I have the potential to be a really good, smart boy. I'll get there. Mom really wanted to take my picture when I was at the head of class demonstrating, but she didn't think it would be appropriate to whip out her phone. So here's what she got:

Watching little Max demonstrate.

Settle position.
Overall, school is fun. It wears me out and we are learning new things.

Oh, last weekend I was very interested in the measuring tape. I was helping mom measure the windows.
Mommy's helper.
That's it for now friends...nap time for this guy.

Vacation

Hello dear friends! Welcome to my latest blog post. This post will be all about my first vacation and include a couple of pictures from the trip.

Let me begin by saying I am an awesome traveler. I was a very well behaved boy in the car, and I was in the car a lot. Why you ask? Because we traveled to Tennessee and North Carolina. I was in 3 new states! (Dinner/potty break in Kentucky). I shouldn't really say car, we (the Dunn's, Mandy, mom and dad and me) drove a really sweet, big van. Here are some pictures of me riding in it.

Hey, this is cool

I spent my first fourth of July at the Dunn Family Reunion in Banner Elk, NC. It was a really rainy day, but I had fun. At night I got to chase beer pong balls, that was fun. The next day we took a walk by a big waterfall, but I wouldn't pose for mom. I also met a dog name Blitz and another golden, Gracie, that looked just like me! Here I am sporting my stars and stripes at the cabin and at the Dunn bed and breakfast The Perry House.

Happy 4th!

Here I am on the porch of The Perry House
After NC, we went back to the house at Norris Lake. I had a great time exploring a new house. I really enjoyed running up and down the stairs and visiting with Missy and Michael. I didn't get in too much trouble. I saw deer on my morning walk and I was very interested in them, but they ran away. It was rainy at the lake too, but we took the boat out for a little bit. I didn't get to swim. :( But it was fun to ride on. I hope I get to go back soon. I like being a lake dog.

Can I have some cheese grandma?

This is really cool!

Boat dog!

I wanted to get out at the Tiki bar, they wouldn't let me..

Missy was making sure I was comfy.
It was a great trip. I didn't have to go in my crate for 5 days! I got to sleep in bed with mom and dad, take walks, meet new people, see new animals, and relax. I can't wait for my next vacation, I hope it involves swimming. I didn't even get to use my life jacket. Bummer!

Stay tuned for my next blog: Back to School.

Little Swimmer

I think I mentioned that my mom bought me a baby pool, but I was unsure of what to do in it at first. Well, that has all changed. They have these pools at daycare also, so of course I follow all my buds in and do what they do. It is so fun and feels so good when it's hot out. Mom was super excited that I swim at daycare so one afternoon she filled up my pool to see what I'd do...and well....take a look for yourself:

I like to stick my face under the water

I love the water!

Blowing bubbles

Just hanging out

I love the water! I can't wait to get to the lake and really swim! You know, where it's deep enough to do the doggie paddle! I got a life vest to wear because safety is important!

I'm heading to a big dog park today. I'll post about it later! Happy Summer everyone!

Climbing

I had an exciting evening last week. Mom got home and put me in the car (yes she literally has to pick me up and put me in the car!) We ended up at the King household. I hadn't been there since I was a small puppy. I got to play with their dogs Lucas and Ella, and Harley was there too! I was super excited when we first got there and had to be penned up with Lucas and Ella. But then we got to go outside in their big yard and run and play ball. It was so fun! They don't have a fence like me but I was a good boy and stayed around, except for when I went up on the neighbors deck but I just wanted to say hi.

Lucas and I ran super fast. He is really good at getting the ball. Hannah was throwing us the ball and then she  climbed up in her play fort thing and kept squeaking it. I really wanted it, so I decided to just climb the ladder to get it! Everyone was so shocked that I climbed up the ladder steps, but it was easy. I think mom was concerned about how I would get down. I had two options, 1. slide or 2. climb back down. I bet you were thinking I took the slide, but I didn't I took the steps down. Here are the photos Carl took. I wish we had a video of it.

Going up!

I'm thinking of going to agility school? Stay tuned for my post on swimming!!

Sorry It's Been So Long

Hello Friends, Family and Fans!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I've been a very busy boy! (I think I said that last time too, but it really is true.)

I am proud to announce that I now have a fenced in yard! I spend a lot of time outside now running laps, playing with the dogs in the back, chasing balls and just exploring all the sections of the yard that I could not get to while tied up. I am in LOVE with the fence and yard! Big thanks to my daddy, Grandpa Jeff and Andy for getting it put up. I'll be planning a dog party where all my friends can come over and check it out. (My birthday is coming up, so maybe I'll have a party then.)

Other than running in my yard, I've been walking a lot lately with my mom. She's training for the Komen 3-Day walk and I am her helper. I can only make it about 3 miles, but hey, that's pretty good.

Speaking of 3 miles, I participated in my first 5K this past weekend! Mom took me to the Parkinson's Steady Strides Race where I got to help support Uncle Garry! It was a blast. I got to meet lots of new people, my best friend Oscar walked with me, I got to eat some bread and I can't even count the number of compliments I got. (Most were along the lines of "Pretty dog." "He's so cute".) And lots of little kids asked to pet me. I was very well behaved and super sleepy when we got home.

So happy to be there

Passed out afterwards
Those are some of the big things I've been up to lately. I've still been attending daycare. We got to play in pools the other day! I had fun. Mom got me a baby pools so maybe I'll play in that soon (and take pictures). I've attended a few softball games of dads. But I get really bored and annoy mom (unless my girlfriend Nash is there), so I might not get to go for awhile. :(

I'm looking forward to learning how to swim (or showing off my swimming skills since it is supposed to come naturally to me). I hope I get to go to the Tennessee lake house this summer. I think that would be a fun time.

Well, time to go play some more ball and bark outside. Have a great week everyone!

Busy Guy

I'd first like to apologize for my lack of posting. A lot has happened since my last blog so I'll try to catch everyone up quickly. Things have just been so busy during the days and evenings, it's hard for me to make it to the computer. But here I sit, just cooling down after a 3.2 mile walk. I'm helping mom train for her upcoming 3-day walk in October. Besides getting to walk a lot, here is what has been going on in my life lately:

No more balls. And I don't mean balls that humans throw to me and I retrieve. My manhood. Is gone. This happened on the 25th of April. It was a nice morning and I thought I was going to daycare or something, but no. I ended up at the vet and feeling drowsy and in pain at the end of the day. (No worries though, I bounced back in a day and I am feeling great. I was even humping a blanket last night...)

Here I am looking pitiful after my surgery.

Supporting Canine Cancer. A few Sunday's ago I went to Oakley's Pup Crawl. It was really fun, but would have been better without the rain. The event raised money to help fund research for canine cancer. We got to walk around to different booths and get free stuff, I saw a lot of other dogs, I got to eat ice cream and a Skyline hot dog, and my mom won we a toy when she guessed the correct number of Milk Bones in a jar. Oscar and Harley went too. Here's a few photos from our wet day in Oakley.

Mmmmm...my first Skyline hot dog!
Eating Harley's ice cream b/c he didn't want it.
Puppy ice cream!
Oscar and I loved our ice cream.
Daycare. I went to Pet Suites Daycare last week. I had a blast playing with one of the workers, for some reason you have to be evaluated for group play. So I'll have that done this week. Then I can play with others! It is a really nice facility and I feel in love with a new ball. Mom is taking me twice this week. I can't wait!

I also went to the Twist for ice cream last week. I had my very own vanilla cup. I also played with Mark the other day, Harley came over and my fence is almost complete.

I told you I've been a busy guy! But I think it's time to sign off and get some rest.

Goodbye friends!
